SYNOPSIS
A dreamlike love story exploring the budding relationship between two queer twenty-somethings. To All That We Are is an absolute celebration of queer love and the beauty of finding yourself. Written and filmed in year two of the pandemic, the story is not one of tragedy or loss, but one of joy!
The narrative embraces a type of queer love story not often represented in mainstream media: one of first love, self-love, and all beautifully queer. Abandoning the conventional structure of problem and resolution, To All That We Are instead chooses to capture one special moment of pure joy.
The soft colors and dream-like aesthetic of the film encompass the innocence and newfound wonder of the two main characters. Their dance sequence at the end of the film is an homage to the flying car at the end of Grease. It is an act of defiance and freedom to show that even queer love stories deserve cheesy storybook endings.

DIRECTOR
Kristian Cahatol
Kristian Cahatol (they/he) is a queer, non-binary, Filipino multidisciplinary artist based in Treaty 1 Territory, Winnipeg, Canada. To All That We Are marks Kristian's directorial debut.
In addition to being a third-year music student at the University of Manitoba, Kristian is an emerging theatre performer and musician, an actor in local short films, an aspiring playwright and poet, and now a director.
Kristian first dipped his toes into the Winnipeg film community on the set of Mansanas, a short film directed by Filipina-Canadian director Erin Hembrador, in 2020. This was his first time being cast in a role that celebrated and called for his particular experience of life, and on a project run by those who also understood. Since then, Kristian has made it their goal to share their unique stories of life and identity in hopes of creating more spaces and media that authentically represent IBPOC, queer, trans, and non-binary stories both on stage and on screen.
