SYNOPSIS:
After the mysterious disappearance of their baby daughter, a married couple begin to receive strange videos of their daily life. The police set up surveillance around their home to catch the voyeur, but the family start to crumble as secrets unravel under the scrutiny of eyes.
In the age of TikTok and YouTube, we’ve become used to looking at others through our screens, but we seldom think about what it feels like to be constantly seen. Yeo Siew Hua explores modern scopophilia in an age of constant surveillance with this Golden Horse-nominated thriller about paranoia and fetishism.
Yeo Siew Hua, Director
Yeo Siew Hua’s A Land Imagined (2018) won the Golden Leopard at the 71st Locarno Film Festival and was Singapore’s entry to the 92nd Academy Awards. The film also won him Best Original Screenplay at the 56th Golden Horse Film Awards in Taipei. He is also the head writer for series and the feature documentary, The Obs: A Singapore Story (2014). Yeo studied film at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and graduated in philosophy from the National University of Singapore.
