Synopsis:
Commissioned by the HKS Education Fund and overflowing with empathy, PRETTY HEART is the story of education across the generations—along with love, friendship, family, and the pressure to succeed. We find Mr. K.K. Ho the star tutor at the Hong Kong cram school overseen by stingy principal Lee Lung Kei. Meanwhile, traditional middle school teacher Chloe learns that many of her students are paying big money to attend cram school to make top marks. While Chloe and Mr. K.K. Ho come to accept their different teaching philosophies as an attraction between the two also grows, there is a long-time estrangement between Chloe and Principal Lee, who also happens to be her father, as she cannot remove him from her memory the terrible fights he had with her late mother. As Chloe blames her father for her mother’s death, she also suffers from heart disease. Will a life—and potentially heart-changing accident—inevitably lead to forgiveness?
